Sword in the Pump

This piece is on the Towpath, about 200 yards south past the Wilbeth Rd. entrance.
Before the artist installed this piece, no one was taking care of the area surrounding the pump. About a month after install, someone had cleaned up the area and picked up all the trash.

The artist who made and installed this piece is Michael Marras (formerly of Akron, but now living in Los Angeles), who also created the Sword in the Stump sculpture at West Exchange Street and Elmdale Avenue in Akron’s Wallhaven area.
