Youth Theatre Production Auditions and Class

Get ready to sing, dance, and shine this fall! We are thrilled to announce upcoming auditions for our Youth Edition production and registration for our Fall Theatre Institute program!

Here is everything you need to know:

AUDITIONS: Anything Goes Youth Edition

Rubber City Theatre is looking for up to 30 energetic performers (Ages 7–15) to join this classic, tap-dancing, musical comedy on the high seas!

Audition Date: Saturday, August 22, 2026
Time Window: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Live in small groups of 10)
Location: Rubber City Theatre at Guzzetta Hall (228 E Buchtel Ave, Akron, OH 44325)
Rehearsals: Saturdays, Sept 12 – Nov 14 (1:30 PM – 4:00 PM) + Tech Week Nov 15–19
Show Dates: Nov 20–22, 2026
Tuition: $300 (Pay-What-You-Can options starting at $50 and payment plans available)
What to Prepare & Bring:

Vocal Audition: Prepare a 1-minute cut of a classic musical theatre or jazz song (e.g., "I Got Rhythm"). Bring a track + speaker OR clearly marked sheet music.

Dance Call: Immediately following vocals. Wear comfortable movement clothes and tap or jazz shoes.
Completed audition/conflict forms and a labeled water bottle.

FALL CLASS: Stage & Song: Acting the Musical Theatre Number

Take your musical theatre skills beyond the notes! Students will focus on story-driven singing, lyrics analysis, building authentic characters, and connecting emotionally to their material through solos, duets, and ensemble numbers.

Dates: September 12 – November 21, 2026
Time: Saturdays, 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Ages: 6–12
Tuition: $160
