Mac Love

Mac Love is an international artist, brand consultant, and the Co-Founder & Chief Catalyst at Art x Love, LLC, a creative agency based in Akron, OH.

Mac believes in the health of art and the power of creative courage. He takes a bespoke approach to each project, tailoring his art to address different environments, communities, and topics. With more than 30 years of experience working as a professional artist in Belgium, the United States, Scotland, Japan, and Singapore, he has developed a wide array of expertise as a painter, muralist, designer, performer, digital and interdisciplinary artist. His artwork explores sythaesthesis: the harmony of different or opposing impulses produced by a work of art, and frequently blends science and interactive elements to make the audience a creative participant in the experience of his work.

Mac is a die-hard Cleveland Sports fan, and was responsible for the “Believeland” chalk murals that reignited interest and development of Cleveland’s Flats East Bank when he first moved to Ohio in 2013. His $240k @PLAY Knight Cities grant project mapped every street in Akron’s 24 neighborhoods, and produced more than 100 murals and 50 placemaking transformations in collaboration with 168 local artists and more than 10,000 residents.
